As the UK regulatory body for the engineering profession, the Engineering Council sets and maintains internationally recognised standards of professional competence and ethics.
Licences are granted by the Engineering Council to professional engineering institutions, allowing them to assess candidates for inclusion on its register of professional engineers and technicians, and to accredit academic programmes and professional development schemes.
The Welding Institute is licenced for registration of professional engineers by the Engineering Council. To become professionally qualified with the Engineering Council as CEng, IEng and EngTech you must be a Member of The Welding Institute, who will act as the awarding body for your registration.
