TWI Frequently asked questions

Am I eligible for Professional Membership if I have an Open University Degree?

Provided you meet the competence and commitment requirements you will be eligible for either Member or Incorporated Member (and corresponding Engineering Council UK registration) depending on the number of Points you have achieved. This is a minimum of 480 points (including a T402 Project) for Member/CEng and a total of 360 points and an appropriate project for Incorporated Member/IEng.

The specific requirements and recommended degree profile can be found in Fact Sheet 6 . Your OU Degree will be subject to Individual Route assessment, as OU degrees do not have prior accreditation by the Engineering Council UK.
