July, 2009 WGSTAND met on Thursday, 16 July 2009, in Singapore.

The ISO/IIW Coordination Committee met in Singapore on Wednesday, 22 July 2009.

There were no technical reports issued for Publication.

It is hoped that a third issue of the electronic newsletter 'The Standard' will be published on the IIW Web site before the end of the year.

Future activities of the Select Committee

The main role of the Select Committee is to administer the standardization programme in IIW and to maintain the links with ISO. This it will continue to do.

There is a growing interest in IIW Working Units to submit documents to ISO for publication as ISO normative documents and the Select Committee will continue to support IIW working units wishing to do this. Currently, there are 8 working units preparing documents for ISO.

The work of the Working Group was reported to meeting of Chairmen of working Units and to the Board of Directors by Dr Shackleton.

ISO/TC44 - IIW Coordination Committee.

ISO/TC44 - IIW Coordination Committee met on Thursday, 22 July 2009 in Singapore.

Attendance

The membership is defined in joint ISO/IIW/CEN Procedures. The keymembers from IIW, ISO and CEN were present.

Technical areas discussed

The progress of work items under the leadership of IIW. No problems were identified but the information on current projects was updated. Action would be taken on some projects where no developments had occurred in the last 12 months.

The updated Coordination Procedure was approved with some small editorial changes.

Resolutions passed

There were no Resolutions.

Documents for publication

Not relevant.

Future activities of the Commission and/or Sub Commission(s)

The next meeting of SCSTAND will take place in Paris on 20 January 2010. The ISO/TC44 - CEN/TC121 - IIW Coordination Committee will not meet again until the time of the 2010 TC44 Meeting in South Korea.

SUMMARY FOR PUBLICATION

The business of the Working Group on Standardization is now routine. At its recent meeting during the IIW Annual Assembly, it reviewed the current work programme of standardization projects being handled by the IIW.

The ISO TC44/CEN TC121/IIW Coordination Committee reviewed the current IIW standardization programme and continues to provide a strong link between the IIW and ISO and CEN.
