Richard Dolby - Rolls Royce Prize
A new award, with a prize of £1000, has been established and designed specifically for younger members. Named after a former Director of Research and Technology at TWI and sponsored by Rolls-Royce plc it is awarded by the Younger Members' Committee (YMC) of The Welding Institute to a person (or group of people, if involved in a joint project) demonstrating success in, and enthusiasm for, welding, joining and/or materials engineering at an early stage of their career.
Those eligible must have no more than five years experience after completing full time education and should be a member of The Welding & Joining Society.
The winner of the first prize was Duncan Scaife. Duncan was presented with his award at The Welding Institute AGM on 11 July 2007.
