Younger Members' Committee (YMC)

Our Mission Statement:

To engage younger engineers in a supportive professional network to encourage and assist their professional and career development.

The YMC is here to support the network of young engineers (under 40 years). We aim to:

  • Represent your views
  • Encourage new people into engineering
  • Highlight the importance of engineering to students
  • Create networking opportunities for likeminded young professionals from a diverse engineering background
  • Promote continuing professional development (CPD")
  • Support students and young engineers to gain membership of The Welding Institute
  • Support students and young engineers to gain registration with the Engineering Council UK
  • Create local networks within the WJS branch areas
  • Provide an overall Younger Members representatives network
