The Welding Institute is keen to work with and embrace schools, colleges and other educational institutions, teachers and students, who are interested in learning more about welding and joining technologies.
We have several ways in which we are able to support you.
Career Awareness Days
The Welding Institute hosts career awareness days allowing schools and colleges to spend a day at the Institute, with the opportunity to:

talk to our apprentices and technicians to find out what they do

try your hand at virtual welding

talk to employers and training providers to find out what is available to you

take a tour around our technology areas
Employers such as BAE Systems, Doosan Babcock, Alstom, Rolls Royce, Lincoln Electric, Network Rail, ECITB, BOC and many others have attended in the past and are always keen to talk about their industry and the opportunities and training available.
