The IIW/EWF Diploma in welding is an internationally recognised qualification supported by the International Institute of Welding (IIW) and the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF).
It aims to assess the competence of welders in relation to tasks and responsibilities during welding, requiring them to demonstrate adequate general and specific knowledge in welding and allied processes through a combination of theory, training and experience.
Gaining the diploma at its three varying levels, informs companies and potential employers of that person’s competence against international standards.
The IIW/EWF Welding Diploma consists of three different levels:
-
Specialist (IWS)
-
Technologist (IWT)
-
Engineer (IWE)
The depth and breadth of knowledge and information taught increases as progress is made towards the engineer level.
