Structural Integrity Technical Group (TG6)

Overview

The Structural Integrity technical group meeting invites experts from industrial sectors where high integrity is required (e.g. Oil & Gas, Nuclear Power) and relevant academic establishments. Presentations encompass not only theoretical developments including the introduction and interpretation of assessment methodologies and standards, but also highly practical experience and guidance illustrated with numerous case studies.

Dr Liwu Wei
Liwu joined the Finite Element Analysis Section of TWI in June 2002 as a senior project leader. He has undertaken a number of projects on stress analysis, heat transfer analysis, and fracture mechanics analysis.

Following his PhD in 1997, he has worked for five years in the Open University and the University of Plymouth as a research fellow, working on fatigue and fracture of engineering materials.  Before he came to UK, he was a lecturer of the South China University of Technology between 1988 to 1994, working in the area of chemical processing machinery and equipment.
